Owned By The People We Serve

Cooperatives are owned by the people they serve. That’s why those who receive electric service from us are called members, not customers. Members maintain democratic control, which means they elect fellow members to represent them on the board of directors.

New members receive a copy of the cooperative's articles and bylaws when they sign up for service from Linn County REC. The articles and bylaws are the rules in which the cooperative is governed. Request additional copies by calling our office at 377-1587 or toll free in Iowa at 1-800-332-5420.
