***Linn County REC no longer has rebates for Air Conditioners (program ended 12/31/2021). Please see Air-Source Heat Pumps for energy efficient cooling options.

 

Heat Pump Rebate

  • Must include a copy of the AHRI Certificate and invoice.
  • This rebate is used for all new and replacement units.
  • Approved contractors may be eligible for a contractor incentive for installing new heat pumps systems. Replacement units are not eligible for contractor incentives. Contractor must submit the rebate on behalf of the member.

Heat Pump Rebate

 

Heat Plus Rate 

  • This optional electric space heating rate is offered for homes and small business with approved, separarely metered electric space heating systems.
  • These systems include ground-source or air-source heat pumps, baseboard, ceiling cable, cove, electric boilers, electric furnace and electric water heaters that are used for space heating only.
  • Electric heat must be the primary heating source.
  • This rate applies to electric space heating only (not domestic water heating).

  • Electric domestic water heating system is required and not allowed to be connected to the Heat Plus Meter.

  • Submitting an application is a must to Linn County REC and should allow time for processing.  Heat Plus Meters will not be installed until an application has been submitted and inspection has been received.

Multifamily Properties

This rebate applies to multifamily properties with 5 or more units.

Notify Linn County REC prior to the start of a multifamily project if the rebate is expected to be over $5000. Failure to do this will result in a 25% reduction of the rebate amount.

Parade of Homes Marketing Incentive

Available to all homes in Linn County REC's service territory that are enrolled in the 2024 Parade of Homes.

  • Features ASHP (Energy Star or NEEP Listed) or GSHP Heating and Cooling.
  • Features a Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heater
  • Mentions Linn County REC Energy Efficiency Program and BE Smart Home Bonus in the featured listing.
  • Marketing Incentive - $1000 

 

B.E. Smart Home Bonus

  • Rebate - $2000 per home
  • ENERGY STAR Cold Climate Air-Source Heat Pump or
  • ENERGY STAR Air-Source Heat Pump or
  • ENERGY STAR Ground-Source Heat Pump and
  • ENERGY STAR Heat Pump Water Heater and
  • Mechanical Ventilation - ERV/HRV and
  • ENERGY STAR appliances (Clothes washer, Heat Pump Dryer or ENERGY STAR Dryer with delay start/scheduling, Dishwasher, and Refrigerator) and
  • EV Level II Charger or EV Ready Home and
  • Home Energy Rating System (HERS) score of 60 or less
    • Signed copy of the pre-construction/design assist HERS rating submitted prior to starting construction.
    • Signed copy of the final HERS Report once construction is completed.
  • Meet all terms and conditions on rebate form

Heat Pump Trade Ally Contractor

  • Appear on Linn County REC's Heat Pump Contractor List.
  • Eligible for contractor incentives. (New installs only, replacement units do not qualify for any incentive.
    • $300 incentive for Trade Ally Contractor who submits the Manual J Calculations with the rebate application.
    • $150 incentive for Trade Ally Contractor who installs a new heat pump (AC and furnace replacement) but does not submit the Manual J Calculations.
    • Contractor must submit the rebate on behalf of the member.
  • Up to date information regarding changes in rebates.
  • Use of Linn County REC's Trade Ally Partner Logo.
  • Must attend (virtual) the annual Heat Pump Contractor Meeting in December to maintain your status for appearing on the Contractor List.
