Teacher Resources
At Linn County Rural Electric Cooperative we understand the impact of educating our youth. We applaud teachers who devote their careers to this end. We want to help in areas we can by providing resources and information that can enrich knowledge about electricity.
Linn County REC is an electric distribution cooperative that places a high priority on safety. One way we do this is by providing free electrical safety presentations to area schools. But we want to do more. Much can be learned about electricity. Energy efficiency and renewable energy are frequent topics in the news today. What a wonderful opportunity to teach kids lifelong habits. Electricity can also be a great way to illustrate mathematical and scientific lessons used in everyday life.
The purpose of this site is to keep teachers with students in our service territory informed of topics of interest. Please check the site regularly for information on contests, grants, conferences, articles and related web sites that you may be interested in, either for your classroom, or for professional development. Let us know if we can help you in the goal of educating our youth about electricity.
