Pay My Bill

ONLINE BILL PAYMENT UPDATE

In December 2011, we changed the company that handled our online payments so you will notice a change when you log in.  You can still log in to your account and view history, payments, etc. as before, but when you click on the Pay My Bill link, you will be taken to a different site to make your payment.  You will be required to set up a password and log in with this company also.  You may use the same login that you set up with us, but you will have to re-enter it to gain access. 

We are currently looking at a way to pass through your login from our site to the payment site, but due to rules for PCI compliance and for your security, it is necessary for you to re-enter it at this time.  If you have questions or problems when paying, please feel free to call a Customer Service Representative for assistance at 319-377-1587 or toll free in Iowa at 1-800-332-5420. 

Transaction Fee

You can pay your electric bill securely over the internet with your credit card, debit card or from your checking account. A $3.95 transaction fee will apply for all payment types. Linn County REC does not receive a portion of this fee.

If you have any questions regarding online payment, please call 377-1587 or toll free in Iowa at 1-800-332-5420 to speak with a Consumer Services Representative. To access this service, please read and agree to our notice by clicking on the "I ACCEPT" icon.

Error Notice

If you make an error when making your payment and need to make a correction, please do so immediately upon discovery of the incorrect entry by calling 377-1587 or toll free in Iowa at 1-800-332-5420. Credit or debit card payment reversals or voids must be done by 5:30 p.m. CDT on the same day the transaction is made.

Password Information: The first time you go online to make a payment, you will need your account number and email address. You will then be able to set up a unique password to use for future logins. The account number can be found on your bill statement under "Billing Information" or by calling our office and requesting your account number from a Consumer Services Representative. Our number is 319-377-1587 or toll free at 1-800-332-5420.

Timing of Payment: Payments will be updated within 5 minutes to your Linn County REC account.

In the event a check is returned or credit card payment is not honored, a $15.00 insufficient funds charge will be added to your Linn County REC account.

Transaction fee: Our vendor charges a transaction fee. The transaction fee will be added to your payment amount. Linn County REC keeps no part of this fee. Fees are as follows:

• $1.00 to $500.00 = $ 3.95

If your payment amount exceeds this amount, you will need to make an additional payment for the amount in excess of $500.00.

We use standard security technology to protect personal information relating to member’s accounts and billing and payment information relating to those accounts. Although we have tried to create a secure and reliable internet payment service, the confidentiality of any communication transmitted over the internet cannot be guaranteed by Linn County REC. Therefore, Linn County REC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents are not responsible for the security of any information transmitted via the internet. Linn County REC is not responsible for any breach of security or for the actions of any third parties that may obtain any personal information. Linn County REC will also not be responsible for any loss resulting from a cause over which it does not have direct control, including, but not limited to, failure of electronic or mechanical equipment or communication lines, telephone or other interconnect problems, computer viruses, unauthorized access, theft, operator errors, or losses due to natural disasters or terrorist activity.
