Budget Billing

Looking for a way to avoid the seasonal ups and downs in your utility bills? To help members control fluctuating monthly bills, Linn County REC offers a budget billing payment plan. This plan allows you to pay in equal monthly installments so you know ahead of time how much to budget for your utility bills.

Monthly payments will be equal to 1/12 of your estimated annual billings based on your usage history. To reduce the possibility of overpayment or underpayment, periodic reviews ensure that payments are adequate to cover usage.

At the end of your budget period, we will re-evaluate your budget by averaging your last 12 months usage. If your actual usage was higher or lower than estimated, we will apply that amount to your new 12 month average. This will be your new budget billing monthly payment. Members are notified of their new monthly payment one month prior to their re-evaluation.
