ENERGY STAR® Appliances

ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.
Results are already adding up. Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved enough energy in 2010 alone to avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those from 33 million cars — all while saving $18 billion on their utility bills.
Linn County REC offers incentives for the following Energy Star appliances:
- Refrigerator (mimimum 13 cubic feet) = $25
- Freezer (minimum 13 cubic feet) = $25
- Window AC = $25
- Dehumdifier = $25
- Dishwasher = $25 plus a $25 bonus if you have electric domestic water heating installed
- Clothes Washer = $25 plus a $25 bonus if you have electric domestic water heating installed and an additional 2nd $25 bonus if you have an electric dryer installed.
Please note that Energy Star verification is required. You can provide a copy of the Energy Guide label showing it qualifies as Energy Star or you can visit the Energy Star website and print off a copy of the page showing the model as Energy Star.
Linn County REC also offers a $50 incentive for the purchase of ultra efficient Energy Star televisions
Televisions must have at least a 40 inch screen. Visit the Energy Star website for a list of qualified TV's. NOTE: Not all Energy Star rated TVs currently in stores qualify. They must be on the current Energy Star list. For verification that your model is on the current Energy Star list, please print out page from website above showing your model qualifies and be sure to send it in with your application form and receipt.
