Electric Water HeaterLinn County REC offers incentives on various electric water heating systems such as:

  • Premium Electric Storage Water Heater with a mimimum 50 gallon tank and at least a 0.94 energy factor (EF) = $100 incentive. 80 and above gallon tank with a 0.92 EF = $150.
  • Energy Star rated Heat Pump Water Heater with an Integrated minimum 40 gallon electric tank = $500
  • Energy Star rated Solar Water Heater with an electric 40 gallon minimum auxiliary tank = $500
  • Desuperheater combined with a geothermal system with a 2 tank electric water heater system = $100. Using a desuperheater, geothermal heat pumps turn waste heat to the task of heating hot water. During the summer, when the system is in cooling mode, your hot water is produced free as a byproduct of the thermal process.
