Agriculture Lighting
Linn County REC offers various indoor lighting incentives for agricultural members. These include:
T8 and T5 Lighting Fixtures
- U-bend Fixtures 2x2
- Standard T8/T5 Linear Fixtures with Electronic Ballasts
- High Bay 4 ft. T8 or 46" T5 Tube with High Output Ballasts (15' minimum mounting height)
Other Fixtures
- Pulse Start Metal Halide Fixtures
- Hardwired Energy Star CFL Fixtures
Lamps and Other Lighting Products
- Energy Star Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) (9 watt minimum)
- Metal Halide Lamps (320-360 watts replacing 400 watts)
- Energy Star LED Lighting (minimum 10 watt lamps)
- LED Strip / Refrigerated Case Lighting
- Occupancy Sensor (wall/ceiling mount or high bay mount)

For helpful agriculture information regarding energy consumption, grain drying, farm equipment and more, visit the Farm Energy Publication Series sponsored by the Iowa State University Extension website. They have a series of materials being developed through the Farm Energy Conservation and Efficiency Educational Initiative. The purpose is to increase farmers' awareness of opportunities for improving efficient use of farm energy
