Look For The ENERGY STAR® Label For Savings
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency places the ENERGY STAR® logo on all ENERGY STAR® rated appliances. ENERGY STAR® offers consumers energy efficient solutions to help save money while protecting the environment. If you are in the market for a new appliance, be sure to look for the blue label. Not only will you be more energy efficient, you may receive an incentive from Linn County REC.
Linn County REC has incentives available on the following ENERGY STAR® labeled appliances:
- Refrigerators (minimum 13 cubic feet) = $25
- Freezers (minimum 13 cubic feet) = $25
- Clothes Washers = $25 (An additional $25 incentive bonus if you have electric domestic water heating and an additional $25 if you have an electric dryer
- Dishwashers = $25 (An additional $25 incentive bonus if you have electric domestic water heating
- Dehumidifiers = $25
- Window AC = $25

ENERGY STAR® was introduced by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 1992 as a voluntary labeling program designed to identify and promote energy-efficient products, in order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. EPA partnered with the US Department of Energy in 1996 to promote the ENERGY STAR® label.
