Reporting an outage

If you are without power, contact Linn County REC. Don't assume that someone else has called to report the problem. Every call helps us determine the location and extent of the outage.

Contact Linn County REC during an outage when:

  • Your entire property is without power
  • You can’t restore power by replacing a fuse or switching the circuit breaker (see link below)
  • You see a downed power line or damaged utility equipment.

To report a power outage call 377-1587 or toll free in Iowa at 1-800-332-5420. Calls are answered 24 hours a day.

Outage calls after regular business hours or during extensive outages will be answered by our automated phone outage system. This system uses caller ID and relies on accurate phone information to serve our members in the most efficient manner. Be sure that we have your current home and/or cell phone number on file with your account information.
