Reliability
Linn County REC is committed to providing reliable service to our member consumers. Unfortunately not all outages can be avoided. Weather, animals, accidents involving poles or substations, and service interruptions from our power supplier can all cause outages. When an interruption does occur, every effort is made to restore service within the shortest time practicable that is consistent with safety.
As part of our commitment to continue meeting and exceeding our high standards of reliability, Linn County REC has documented and filed its reliability plan with the Iowa Utilities Board. This plan reinforces our goal of providing safe, reliable, environmentally responsible and affordable electric service to our member consumers. Linn County REC has a program in place that addresses a number of issues including our plan to attempt to prevent interruption of service, build and maintain our electrical facilities and outlines our preventative maintenance programs.
