Iowa One Call

Before you do any digging on your property call Iowa One Call at 811 at least 48 hours in advance.

Iowa One Call Underground Plant Location Services is a free service to our members. When you place a call to Iowa One Call they will notify Linn County REC to locate your underground electric facilities. Placing this call also notifies other utilities that may have buried services on your property or about your dig area. Linn County REC contracts with Great Plains Locating Service to do our cable locates. Please remember to allow 48 hours (not counting weekends and/holidays or emergencies) for the utilities to come and locate their services. If you have an emergency, a locate can be requested for a shorter period of time; an emergency is defined “as a clear and immediate danger to life or health, essential services, or a potentially significant loss of property”. It is a state requirement that all parties who plan on digging contact Iowa One Call before their project is started.
