Air Source Heat Pump

Air Source Heat Pumps provide efficient heating and cooling by using refrigerant and coils. In winter, the pump’s outside unit captures heat that exists naturally in the atmosphere and transfers it to the inside unit where it is amplified to warm your home or business. In summer, the process is reversed to remove heat and excess humidity, leaving your home or business cool and comfortable. These units can be over 200% efficient.

Linn County REC offers an incentive of  $225 per ton on new installations for units that meet ENERGY STAR® requirements.  (Note:  Energy Star has increased its minimum requirements for split systems to 14.5 SEER and 8.2 HSPF effective 1/1/09)

All new units or replacement units must be pre-approved by Linn County REC by having the heat pump contractor submit the Notification Form to Dave Gilmore. Please contact Member Services for more information on pre-approval
