Election

Linn County REC is a member owned electric cooperative governed by a board of directors that you elect. These directors represent members in each district and set the policies of the cooperative. As a member of Linn County REC, one of your most important roles is to participate in the nomination and election of directors. You can become involved in your cooperative’s operation by serving on the nominating committee.

Nominating committee members meet one time in June at the REC headquarters building in Marion for a dinner meeting. At the meeting, the individuals selected by the committee member are presented to the committee. The committee then votes to reject or place these individuals on the ballot. The dinner meeting usually last about one and a half hours, no more than two hours. Your spouse or a guest is welcome to join you.

If you are interested in representing your district on the nominating committee or wish to run for director, please contact our office at 377-1587 or toll free in Iowa at 1-800-332-5420 to speak with administration.
